Squirrels

Squirrels is a newly launched section of scouting for 4 and 5 year olds, and we have now opened our Drey as of 2nd February. Our Squirrel Scouts meet on Thursday evenings (before beavers), monthly subs are £12.50. The uniform is a red sweatshirt, navy trousers and our Groups kneckerchief.

Squirrels is all about making an impact and enabling new skills for life at a time when it matters most. Squirrels follow the steps of our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Sections.

• Learning new things
• Earning badges through fun activities

We are open to anyone in Gloucestershire but will be prioritising siblings or family members of our group. Please note that we do have a waiting list.

This year the Squirrels have celebrated their first birthday with a special cake, they have also been on their first joint sleepover with our Beavers where they played games, learned how to make a shelter, watched a movie and made chocolate chip cakes. They also joined the rest of the Group roller skating.

In 2023 they have enjoyed lots of activities. In May they visited the Group’s camp for the day and joined in with the other sections activities which included string trails, zip lining, paddle boats, peddle Karts, soft archery. In July they had a joint trip with the Beavers to Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust, where they went to Welly Land, did some pond dipping, fed some ducks and other birds. The recently had a visit from a Police Officer and Police Cadets along with another special guest.
