Gladiators ESU Explorers Login Contact Us Explorer Scouts are for Young People from the age of 14 to 18. They can also be Young Leaders and help out with younger sections. Our Explorers meet every week on Thursdays, monthly subs are £12.50, and are to be paid monthly. Our uniform is a beige coloured shirt and our Group Neckerchief. Gladiators ESU are the linked with the 46th Gloucester scout group based in the Gloucester City Centre. As an explorer group, we are aimed at humans aged 14-18 years old. We get up to a lot of fun activities like kayaking, archery and air rifle shooting. In the times we aren’t getting out and about we spend our meetings joining in with team based activities like badge-work on scout badges like the digital maker badge and the cooking badge. Forging friendships, building life skills and having fun, all at the same time. If you are interested in joining us get in contact our at the email address by clicking the “Contact Us” button. Let’s face it, by the age of 14, most young people know what they want. Explorer Scouts, therefore, have a big say in what they do, while being supported by adult volunteers. Explorer Scouts: Try activities such as power boating, sailing, snow and motor sports Deliver campsite services – running activities or helping with site maintenance Fundraise and help in the community Go on camping expeditions in the UK and abroad Go for The King’s Scout Award, Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold and the Explorer Belt (a 10 day challenge abroad) – all recognised by universities and employers Train as young leaders – working with an experienced adult, they learn how to run activities for young people aged 6 – 14 The Explorers are a very active section with lots of different activities being offered. This year they have been climbing, endured a 24 hour sponsored cyclethon and joined the other members of the Group roller skating, these are just a few of the activities this year. They joined the rest of the Group in May on camp at Trac where they enjoyed paddle boarding, rowing boats, zip wire, pedal karts and also the chill out zone along with many other activities. They also helped out without being asked with the younger members during the camp. Have been slot car racing, kayaking and a weekend camp where they had a go at rifle shooting and went hiking. Here you will find a diagram showing the position of Badges and Awards on the uniform. You can find out about the badges that Explorers can earn on the national Scout website.
