Beavers

Our Beaver Scout Colony take young people from the age of 6 – 8.   The Beavers meet on Thursday nights, Monthly Subs are £12.50, which are to be paid monthly. Their uniform is a turquoise sweatshirt, navy blue trousers and our Group Kneckerchief.

What’s the best thing about Beaver Scouts? Activities, trips and making friends are all part of what makes it so much fun for girls and boys. As well as earning activity badges, many Beavers Scouts get to go on camps and sleepovers, often for the first time. Beaver Scouts like:

  • Being creative – making things and singing
  • Playing games
  • Going on visits and investigating nature
  • Learning about themselves
  • Getting to know other people
  • Discovering the worlds of science, nature and technology
  • Exploring the natural and manmade world
  • Caring – responding to the needs of others, the local and international community

If you are interested in joining our Beaver Scout Colony, please complete our waiting list form. If you have any questions or want to know more, please contact our Beaver Leader. Email – [email protected].

Take a look below to find out some of the things our Beavers have been doing and also a badge placement diagram is at the bottom of the page.

This year the Beavers joined the Squirrels for a joint sleepover at Murray Hall, where they learned how to make a shelter, played games, made chocolate crispy cakes and watched a movie. They also joined the rest of the Group roller skating. In May they had fun on camp for a weekend with the rest of the Group at Trac, where they enjoyed lots of activities such as paddle boarding, zip wire, camp fire, pedal karts and a lot more. They had an evening at the end of July in Gloucester Park completing the orienteering trail. They have also been earning lots of badges including their Air Activities stage 1, Health and Fitness and parts of their challenge badges. They visited Gloucester Library as part of their book readers badge, where they learned about the library and 3D printing and enjoyed listening to a story from one of the librarians.

You can find out about the badges that the Beavers can earn on the national Scout website. Below is a diagram of the position of badges and awards for Beaver Scouts.
